FEMALE VOICE: I came to the realization when I went to Six Flags with my best friends, we were in line, totally excited, not too excited abut the walking. Uhm, we were in line for the Batman Ride and I had ridden before and I didn’t have any problems and, you know, we’re on line waiting all excited and we go up and I sit down in the chair and the belt doesn’t fit. And so they moved me to another chair with a larger belt and the belt doesn’t fit and I couldn’t ride. And after that, I thought, “you know what, if I don’t do anything now then this is going to be my life. I’m not going to—I’m going to be so limited in so many things.” I remember telling my parents, you know, “I’m going to get this surgery. I’m going to get it. I’m going to lose all this weight. Watch. One day I’m going to be this size and you guys aren’t going to recognize me.” And sure enough, I did all the classes, I did my research on the insurance, I finally got approved and uhm, I have nothing to complain about. I mean, as far as the surgery, I had no problems afterwards. Of course, I got sick here and there but that was, you know, my fault if I eat something that I shouldn’t have eaten or if I eat too fast, but other than that, it’s just like my body totally just took to it so well. My surgery has almost, uhm, you know, had a domino effect on everyone in my family. They really look at themselves now, “hey, you know, we need to get healthier. Look at her. Look what she’s done.” And they just look at me like, “I can’t believe you’ve done it.” We look at old pictures and they’re amazed that, you know, I’m the same person.
