MALE VOICE: Typically after significant weight lost that is associated with bariatric surgery, patients either request or need cosmetic surgery. It’s cosmetic in that we remove the skin, but it’s also a big improvement physically. Commonly in the abdominal area, skin hangs over the waste line. It can create rashes and other problems for a patient. Having done so much bariatric surgery and being involved in these abdominal plastian peniculectimies or bariatric tummy tucks, we, at this stage of the game are very comfortable and adapted at removing the skin, tighten up the abdomen and therefore giving patients a much improved physical situation as well as wonderful cosmetic affect.
